The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, the philanthropic partner organization of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, has activated its emergency relief fund in the wake of the disaster in Haiti. The Fraternity and the Foundation will promote an initiative known as iKARE-Haiti (iKARE = International Kappa Relief Effort) to aid those in need.

Kappa Alpha Psi and the Kappa Foundation recognize that many members are donating to the Haitian relief efforts via other organizations, and wish to help with those efforts by making sure that funds donated get to those who need help the most.

Members of Kappa Alpha Psi are asked to contribute to the Haitian relief efforts in two ways: first, to make financial contributions via the Kappa Foundation; and second, to participate in a "Dining with Kappa" program, in which chapters direct patrons to resturants that, in turn, donate a portion of the proceeds to the iKARE-Hati effort. More information about this program and the iKARE-Haiti initiative will be made over the next several days.

Brothers can begin making donations immediately by sending making checks payable to "Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation" to:
Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Inc.
2322 N. Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19132-4590
To properly account for the donations, please be sure to write "iKARE-Haiti" in the memo section of the check.
