Rooms are available at the The Queen Mary, a historic ocean liner permanently docked in Long Beach, CA. 

Group rates vary on room type (see below). To make a reservation, contact the Queen Mary at (877) 342-0742 and ask for the "69th Western Province Council" rate. The deadline to book at the group rate is Monday, February 29th.

For your convenience, the following is a summary of transportation options for those flying into the Los Angeles area:

From Long Beach Airport (LGB)
$1.25; 1 hour & 15 minutes one-way
  • Take bus 111/112 to Transit Gallery station (45 min; $1.25)
  • Transfer to Passport shuttle to Queen Mary (15 min; free)
about $30 - $35 + tip one-way; 20 - 30 minutes

RIDE SHARE (Lyft or Uber)
Ride share pickup service is not available at Long Beach Airport, but drop-off service is allowed for returns. $15 - $20 one way; 20 - 30 minutes.

From Los Angeles Airport (LAX)
$2.75; 1 hour & 30 minutes one-way
  • Catch the "G" shuttle to the Metro GREEN line (10 min; free)
  • Take Green Line train towards Norwalk, and get off at the Willowbrook / Rosa Parks Station (15 min; $2.75, incl. $1 fee for TAP card)
  • Transfer to the Blue Line Metro Rail train towards Long Beach, and get off at the Transit Gallery station in downtown Long Beach. (35 min; transfer included in TAP card)
  • Transfer to Passport shuttle to Queen Mary (15 min; free)
AIRPORT SHUTTLE (shared service)

The annual Jack Sudduth Memorial Golf Tournament and Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016 at the Skylinks Golf Club in Long Beach. The cost is $125 per player.

Information for chapters, companies, and individuals interested in purchasing advertisements in the Souvenir Booklet is forthcoming from the LBISB chapter.


The Province has arranged for a cruise after the council meeting. The four day cruise, provided by Carnival Cruise Lines, departs right next to the Queen Mary. Destinations include Catalina and Ensenada, Mexico (passport required). 

For those who wish to stay an extra night upon their return on Friday morning (April 8th), the Queen Mary group rate is available (the booking deadline of February 29th still applies.)

The Long Beach/ Inglewood/South Bay Alumni Chapter will host a "Fishing with the Kappas" trip on Wednesday, March 30th from 6 am to 4 pm. Tickets are $60 each and must be purchased by March 27.
